| Our
local WI meets at 7.30 pm at Rhodes Memorial
Hall, Brockhampton, usually on the first Monday of each
month, and visitors are always welcome. We have regular attendees from the surrounding area as well as our own parish and we cater for all ages – current members range from early 30s to late 80s! We’re more akin to ‘Calendar Girls’ than ‘Jam and Jerusalem’, (although we do still start each meeting by singing the latter – our choice and by no means compulsory!) and we have a great deal of fun together. The format of our evenings is usually a short business meeting followed by a talk from an invited speaker then refreshments. We try to cover a wide range of topics and interests, and to be both informative and entertaining. Each year, on an ‘ad hoc’ basis, we arrange additional outings and other activities, sometimes including partners, who are also invited to at least one of our monthly meeting.
