Minutes of a meeting of the Parish Council
held on Thursday 16th September 2010
In the Reading Room, Rhodes Memorial Hall Brockhampton
Present: Bill Jenkin, Lynne Jackson, Harry Boyd, Di
Brown
- Apologies:
Bill Lanfear, Clive Norden
- There were no declarations of
interest in any item on the agenda
- The minutes of the previous
meeting having been circulated were approved and signed as a true
record of proceedings
- Matters arising:
- Donnywell stone – in the absence
of Bill Lanfear the matter would be put on the agenda for the next
meeting
- Water tap – nothing
further to report as Thames Water had taken no action on the matter.
- Emergency planning – the Clerk
is still working on the detail. LJ to progress the first
aid course further
- The repairs to the right of way
path by the Coln had been finished and a cheque received from National
Grid. The Clerk was awaiting an invoice.
- Street map – in the absence of
Clive Norden the matter would be put on the agenda for the next meeting
- Colin Rosser memorial – a site
meeting would be held on Saturday to discuss positioning.
DB proposed, seconded LJ and RESOLVED that an amount up to £200 could
be spent on the seat and tree.
- Financial
statement: A new internal (internal) auditor is
required. Malcolm Bell had been approached and in view of
this the budget variances for the six months would be an agenda item
for the next meeting. Payments:
Moore Stephens audit
fee £141;
GAPTC seminar fee £10;
Jenkin VL copying £40;
Webb grass
cutting £145.
Receipts: National Grid £2250
donation.
Balances:
Barclays £11263.62 and
Way Forward
£9326.98.
- Planning:
Lower Farm Bungalow, appeal dismissed. Donnywell Cottage,
demolition approved but extension refused and subject to
appeal. Rose Cottage, single storey extension and
Brockhampton Park shed approved. There would be no
objection to the glass balcony at Plovers Wood.
- Following a letter from Wendy
Lee regarding the state of Church Lane, the clerk had contacted
Highways who were hopefully dealing with the repair
- Proposed LJ, seconded DB and
RESOLVED that a sum up to £80 would be spent on web site annual renewal
- Phil Box had made a noticeboard
for the telephone box in lower Sevenhampton and would be asked to look
at repairing the faulty door hinge. Proposed HB, seconded
LJ and RESOLVED that the sum of £100 be made available for the purchase
of a suitable door closure hinge
- The extra grass cutting along
the path outside the Church had been done this year for no extra cost
but would be added to the tender for next year by the Clerk
- Heat map survey – the Clerk to
contact Mike Moseley regarding his thoughts on the matter
- A further meeting was to be
held on 23 September to consider the quotation for the work to be done
on the village hall and the apportionment of the costs thereof
- The date of the next meeting
was confirmed as Thursday 18 November and there being no further
business the chairman closed the meeting at 8.30
