Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting
held on Thursday 25 September 2008

Present:    Bill Jenkin    Bill Lanfear    Lynne Jackson     Harry Boyd
Absent:    Alison Giles       

  1. Apologies: Di Brown
     
  2. There were no declarations of interest on the agenda
     
  3. The minutes of the meeting held on 16 July 2008 having been circulated were signed and dated as a true record of the proceedings
     
  4. Matters arising:
    1. Energy conservation think tank – Phil Davies had decided against the chairmanship but Robert Jackson would be asked to approach his contact with a view to ascertaining the feasibility of bio-mass as a project;
    2. a response had been received from GCC confirming that some work would be done to the roads but no definite date yet.   The clerk to ask for some big potholes to be filled in a s a p;
    3. Donnywell – work was progressing well.   Bill Lanfear to investigate a stone slab for the bridge and railings;
    4. Signposts – the clerk to Email Glos Highways with requirements ie a Sevenhampton sign close to Webbs Lane only and the refurbishment of the sign by The Grange;
    5. a letter to be written to CDC pointing out the lack of a mobile phone signal in the area of the telephone kiosk earmarked for removal.   The date of the consultation period had been extended to 01 November.
       
  5. Financial report: Payments: Clek £389.98, Moore Stephens £141.00; Webb grasscutting £100, Aon insurance £420.00, W. Jenkin £26.25.   Balances: £7222.32 and £7307.40 Way Forward a/c.  
     
  6. Planning report: Lower Farm Bungalow loose boxes, Gassons Farm Building change of use and 1 Deer Park Cottage extension, passed.   2 New Row rear extension also passed with no objections.   1 Deer Park Cottage Garage and The Old Chapel replacement roof, pending with no objections.
     
  7. Approval of annual website renewal – RESOLVED at £60 plus VAT for a further year
     
  8. Church Lane footpath had been strimmed back to the fence.   The grass cutting tender to be altered to reflect this.  The clerk to contact Highways again regarding the blocked drainage at Berkeley.
     
  9. The next meeting was confirmed as 19 November and there being no further business the chairman closed the meeting at 8.40pm
