Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting
held on Wednesday 19 January 2005
1. The Minutes were read and signed as
approved. Apologies for absence had been received from Alex
Ash. Sydney Harrison was in attendance.
2. Matters arising:
- Affordable Housing: the Clerk was asked to write to Martin
Hutchings of CDC following his attendance at the open meeting on
affordable housing which had preceded the parish council
meeting. The housing survey needs to be followed up to
indicate whether there was still a need.
- Speed limits: Correct notices are now up and we can only wait.
- Post box: Ashley Tobin has ordered a post box to be
fitted in the door of the post office specifically to take large
envelopes.
- Bus passing place: Agreed in principle as a
gift. The parish council would be asked to bear the cost
for the walling and the hire of plant.
Sydney Harrison to look into a possible grant.
- Web site: the Clerk to write to all the parish clubs to
ask if they want to advertise although it was not yet up and
running.
3. Planning:
- Spring Cottage and The Barn, Brockhampton still pending.
- The telephone mast and
- Coomb stable block had been passed.
- The extension on Coomb had been withdrawn.
4. Financial:
After a payment of £63.45 to Thomas Jackson for extra grass
cutting there was a balance on the main account of £6869.64 and
£2811.34 on the Leeds & Holbeck account.
5. Grass cutting tender: The clerk
to issue and advertise as normal. The area round the
post box (village green), the seat and bus shelter in Brockhampton to
be added on to the tender. Also to be advertised in the
parish magazine. The tenders would be opened at the March
meeting.
6. The annual parish meeting would be on 30
