The Book Club is based in Brockhampton and is open to anyone who
would like to spend an evening once a month to discuss their current
reading.
The books are selected by the group. We try to select more than one
title to give people a chance to get on with at least one.
We meet in each
others home from half past seven to about nine.
Some of the past titles we have
discussed include;
Sebastian Faulks' Human Traces, Salley Vickers' Miss
Garnet's Angel, Ian McEwan's Atonement (just been made into a film part of which
was filmed in the village), Jane Gardam's Old Filth, Jed Rubenfeld'd The
Interpretation of Murder and Paul Torday's Salmon Fishing in the
Yemen. Middlesex by Jeffery Eugenides Blood and Sands by Frank Gardiner.
We would welcome new members and any one interested could
get more details from Mike or Nicola on 01242 820369
